Frequently Asked Questons

How can I tell if we are a good fit?

Finding a therapist who is a good fit is a two way street. I view the first phone call as well as the first session(s) as a time to get to know each other and see how we work together. If it mutually seems like a match—great! If not, I will help you to find another therapist who may be a better fit.

I also acknowledge that trust takes time, so I continue to check in on how therapy is working for you, and see we can together make therapy the best fit possible.

What does getting started with you look like?

We start with a 20-minute free consult call to get background information and answer any questions that you may have. After this, if you decide to proceed, I send an intake packet that includes all consent forms, billing practices, and an online intake questionnaire.

Once the paperwork is completed, we have our first session. The first 1-3 sessions are used to get to know each other, review a thorough history, and complete any self-report measures to seek diagnostic clarity. The goal is ultimately to collaborate and develop a treatment plan together to guide the rest of treatment.

How does your billing work?

My starting rate is $250. I accept cash, check, card, and HSA through IvyPay- a secure payment site which collects billing information through text messages. I am an out of network (OON) provider, which means I do not work directly with any insurance network. Upon request, I am able to supply a "superbill" which outlines your monthly expenses as well as includes information that most insurances require to approve reimbursement.

If you are unsure about your coverage, please contact your insurance company and ask about out of network reimbursement for behavior health/ outpatient psychotherapy.

What does telehealth treatment look like?

In addition to in-person sessions, I also meet with clients via telehealth. I use a secure platform, GoogleMeets, for our weekly sessions.

Much like in-person therapy, it is important to find a private space to have your sessions. I can help problem solve this with you, if needed. Otherwise, sessions tend to look much the same as in-person therapy.

While some people prefer the convenience of telehealth, it also does not work for others. This is something we can discuss in our phone consultation to see if telehealth is a viable option for you.
